What is double hung window? This type of window gets its name from their two individual glass panes which are able to be operated by most of us. These two glass panes are called as sashes which are set up in a frame one facing another. There is a wood piece with a name of parting strip which separates these two sashes which are vertically slide up & down. The old days’ double window is different with the one in nowadays. Like I have written above, modern double window hung has spring system while the old days’ double window had different type. The last part may be the mun-tins which are considered as the smallest parts of the double window which get the window held on its place.
