Sweating the pipe means soldering them. The acetylene’s torch gets the pipes heated and of course if someone is heated, he/ she will be sweating, so that’s the reason of the name of sweating copper pipe. 1. First of all, the area which will be soldered must be clean, so if you find any dirt there, get it cleaned soon.

2. Get the pipe secured properly in order to make the area you solder is accessible and the pipe gets held snuggle. It must be steady throughout the process.

3. Get the acetylene torch ignited and then get the thickest pipe’s part to be soldered. Generally, this part is the part where two pipes overlap.

4. Get the pipes heated thoroughly until it glows. Once the area has been thoroughly heated, then the solder can be applied.

5. Get the end hooked using a long piece of solder. Get the solder’s end moved lightly against the fitting’s edge. When the area has been heated thoroughly, the solder will melt. The solder then will be sucked up into the opening & between the two pipes.

6. When the copper pipe is being sweated, go around the fitting area and entire pipe. Do not miss any spot. The area that is hit by the solder can be seen. Just do the process thoroughly. Get the solder moved around one last time to make sure that it is covered.

7. Now, get this proceed to another side of the fitting if pipe comes from both sides. Before touching the pipe, make sure it has been cool for your safety.
